History[]

In 1946 the City of Kelowna purchased the 320 acre Dickson Ranch in Ellison and constructed Ellison Field, which opened in 1947. The land was annexed into the City of Kelowna from Ellison and Ellison Field later became Kelowna International Airport (YLW).
