The Justice Institute of British Columbia is a public post-secondary education institution that offers courses and training in corrections, policing, security, public safety and firefighting. The Fire & Safety Division opened in 1983 in Maple Ridge and the emergency vehicle driving course was added later at Boundary Bay Airport in Delta. The main campus and classrooms are in New Westminster. The Paramedic Academy is located in Kelowna, and there are additional campuses in Chilliwack and Victoria.
