Department Profile[]

The Iron Gate Volunteer Fire Company is a volunteer fire department located in the Town of Iron Gate in Alleghany County. The department was organized in 1934 and operates out of one station. The department provides mutual aid to other parts of Alleghany County, as well as, Botetourt County. One major roadway--US Route 220--travels through the Iron Gate area. The department is staffed solely by volunteers.
