Mason County Fire Protection District No. 18 operates as Hoodsport Fire & EMS.

History[]

Mason County Fire Protection District No. 18 was established on November 21, 1977, serving the Lake Cushman area of Mason County, Washington.

On January 1, 2021, Mason County Fire Protection District No. 1 (Hoodsport) merged with Mason County Fire Protection District No. 18 (Lake Cushman), forming Hoodsport Fire & EMS.

18-2 North Lake Cushman Fire Lane, Hoodsport 1982-2008 24'x30' pole building built on land donated by the Lake Cushman Maintenance Company.[4] 24'x30 addition done in 1993.[5] Demolished in 2008 as the station and surrounding area was built on fill dirt placed over tree stumps, which decomposed, leading to sinkholes and unstable ground.
