Area Served[]

The Hermosa Beach Fire Department served the City of Hermosa Beach, a Pacific Ocean beachfront city located in the South Bay region of southwestern Los Angeles County. (Hermosa is Spanish for "Beautiful"). The city has a total area of 1.4 square miles and a population of 19,506.

History[]

The Hermosa Beach Fire Department was formed in 1907 and when dissolved had 18 employees and one main fire station. In 2017, the Hermosa Beach City Council chose to contract fire protection services to the Los Angeles County Fire Department which took effect on December 30, 2017. [1]
