Gorman-Rupp Pumps is an American pump manufacturer. The company has produced several pumps suitable for use on fire apparatus.

History[]

In 1933 two unemployed engineers J.C. Gorman and H.E. Rupp partnered to create Gorman-Rupp Pumps. Their first product was a self priming, non-clogging centrifugal pump. They were soon selling pumps for industrial and construction use.

After World War II Gorman-Rupp began to offer portable pumps including some that found use with loggers and forestry firefighters. By the 1960s they were offering engine driven and PTO pumps that found use on wildland and quick attack fire apparatus.
