Gorham Engineering Company was a fire apparatus and pump manufacturer located in Oakland, California.

History[]

Gorham manufactured large multi-stage centrifugal pumps(then known as turbine pumps). In 1911 the company teamed up with Seagrave to build pumpers. Seagrave provided the chassis, then Gorham would install a Gorham manufactured engine and pump. It is estimated that Gorham assembled approximately 40 of these Seagrave-Gorham pumpers between 1912 and 1915. The Gorham-Seagrave pumpers are believed to be the first fire pumpers to be equipped with a centrifugal pump.
