Pierce County Fire Protection District No. 5 operates as Gig Harbor Fire & Medic One.

History

At a special election held on January 6, 1945, voters in the Gig Harbor Peninsula area approved the formation of Pierce County Fire Protection District No. 5 with 762 “yes” votes to 26 “no” votes. The district was established by the Pierce County Commissioners on March 6, 1945.
