The George Hale Company was established in 1880 to sell fire department related tools and supplies. There is no relation between George Hale and his company and the later Hale Fire Pump Company.
History[]
George Hale was a firefighter and inventor. He would later become the fire chief for the Kansas City, Missouri Fire Department. In 1886 he patented the invention he is best known for, a telescoping water tower. The George Hale Company manufactured water towers, but he also licensed the production to others. He sold the patent to the Fire Extinguisher Manufacturing Company (FEMCO) in 1894. Hale patent water towers would be manufactured until 1920.
The company manufactured some motorized fire apparatus in the early 20th century.
