Area Served[]

The Fort Knox Fire Department is responsible for protecting the 109,000+ acre military installation of Fort Knox, including the famous United States Bullion Depository. The department responds to over 2,000 calls for service per year.

History[]

The Fort Knox Fire Department was formally organized in 1918. As many as thirteen fire stations were present on the base in the 1940s.
