Department Profile[]

The Flowes Store Volunteer Fire Department is a combination department that protects approximately 4,300 people in 23 square miles in southern Cabarrus County, NC (Charlotte Metro Area). The department staffs their station 24/7, with two Certified Firefighter/EMTs and has members that respond from home as needed. The department responds to both fire calls and medical emergencies as First Responders. The department operates on automatic aid agreements with adjacent departments in both Cabarrus and Mecklenburg Counties.

History[]

Flowes Store Volunteer Fire Department was organized at its first meeting on February 16, 1962. The department later incorporated on March 8, 1962 with 14 firemen. Before this time, the area was protected by Jackson Park Fire Department, Midland Fire & Rescue, and the Allen Volunteer Fire Department.
