Area Served[]

The Five Cities Fire Authority (FCFA) provides fire protection and emergency medical services for the incorporated cities of Arroyo Grande and Grover Beach, the unincorporated town of Oceano, as well as for the unincorporated community of Halcyon and the Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation Area, all located in Southern San Luis Obispo County, Central California. The Authority encompasses an area covering 10 square miles, while serving a population of approximately 37,000 inhabitants.

Mutual Aid[]

FCFA has mutual aid agreements with the San Luis Obispo County Fire Department / CAL FIRE San Luis Obispo Unit, Atascadero Fire & Emergency Services, the Morro Bay Fire Department, the Paso Robles Fire Department, the San Luis Obispo Fire Department, the Santa Margarita Fire Department, and Templeton Fire & Emergency Services, in addition to the Guadalupe Fire Department (California) and the Santa Maria Fire Department in Santa Barbara County.

Department Profile[]

The Authority has three fire stations: one in Arroyo Grande, one in Grover Beach, and one in Oceano. The Arroyo Grande station (Station 1) serves as the headquarters for the Authority and serves the City of Arroyo Grande and the greater Arroyo Grande area. FCFA does not provide ambulance transport services as part of its mandate. All medical transport is provided under contract by San Luis Ambulance.

History[]

The Five Cities Fire Authority was established on July 9, 2010 by a Joint Powers Agreement between the cities of Arroyo Grande, Grover Beach, and the Oceano Community Services District to provide fire protection services for these communities.
