Area Served[]

The El Dorado County Fire Protection District provides fire protection and emergency medical services under contract for the City of Placerville, as well as for the unincorporated communities of Apple Hill, Camino, Coloma, Cool, Gold Hill, Kyburz, Lotus, Oak Hill, Pacific House, Pilot Hill, Pleasant Valley, Pollock Pines, Salmon Falls, Shingle Springs, Sierra Springs, Silver Fork, Strawberry, Texas Hill and Twin Bridges, all located on the West Slope of El Dorado County, Northern California. Together, the area covered by the district encompasses over 281 square miles, while serving a population of approximately 74,000 residents. The district is bordered by the Garden Valley Fire Protection District and the Mosquito Fire Protection District to the north; by the Georgetown Fire Protection District to the northeast; by the Lake Valley Fire Protection District to the east; by the Pioneer Fire Protection District, the Diamond Springs - El Dorado Fire Protection District, the Rescue Fire Protection District, the El Dorado Hills CWD, and the Latrobe Fire Protection District on the south; by Folsom Lake on the southwest, and by Placer County, as well as by the Sierra Nevada Foothills on the west.

Mutual Aid[]

The El Dorado County Fire Protection District has mutual aid agreements with several neighboring fire departments within El Dorado County, including the CAL FIRE Amador-El Dorado Unit, the Diamond Springs - El Dorado Fire Protection District, the El Dorado Hills Fire Department, the Garden Valley Fire Protection District (California), the Georgetown Fire Protection District (California), the Pioneer Fire Protection District (California) the Rescue Fire Department (California), as well as with the United States Forest Service / Eldorado National Forest Fire Suppression
