Dumont Engine Company No. 1 was formed in 1896 as the Volunteer Fire Association of Schraalenburgh. Hook & Ladder Company No. 2 was formed in 1904 and Dumont Hose Company No. 3 and Independent Hose Company No. 1 were formed in 1906.
