Department Profile[]
The Craig County-New Castle Volunteer Fire Department is a volunteer fire department in the Town of New Castle. The town had a population of 153 during the 2010 US census. The department was organized in 1947 and operates out of one station. The department provides mutual aid to other parts of Craig County, as well as Botetourt County. Two major roadways--VA Route 42 and VA Route 311--travel through the New Castle area.
