History[]

The Community Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1927. In 1942, the Community Fire Protection District was formed but laid dormant until 1951 when the courts ordered it reactivated. The district made the headlines in 1964 when it took delivery of the first diesel powered apparatus in the nation. EMS services in the district began in 1970.
