The Clear Creek Fire Authority was formed in 1999 through a merger of the following fire departments:
- Alice / St. Mary's Volunteer Fire Department
- Dumont Fire Department
- Empire Volunteer Fire Department
- Georgetown Fire Department
- Idaho Springs Fire Department
- Silver Plume Volunteer Fire Department
- York Gulch Volunteer Fire Department
