About[]
Clark-Cowlitz Fire Protection District No. 15 operates as Clark-Cowlitz Fire Rescue.
Area Served[]
Clark-Cowlitz Fire Rescue serves 125 square miles of northwest Clark County; this includes the cities of Ridgefield and La Center, the Cowlitz Indian reservation, and the unincorporated neighborhoods of Meadow Glade, Dollars Corner, Duluth, Sara, Charter Oak, Lewisville, Rock Creek, Pine Grove, Highland, and Pioneer. The district also serves the City of Woodland in Cowlitz County.
History[]
On August 4, 2020, voters approved the annexation of the City of Woodland into Clark County Fire Protection District No. 11 with a combined 10,748 "yes" votes and 3,108 "no" votes.[1] Due to the fact the City of Woodland is located in Cowlitz County and was annexed into Clark County Fire Protection District No. 11, state law requires that the districts name be changed to reflect the multi-county coverage.[2] In December of 2020, the legal name of Clark County Fire Protection District No. 11 was changed to Clark-Cowlitz Fire Protection District No. 15, and the operating name of Clark County Fire & Rescue was changed to Clark-Cowlitz Fire Rescue.
