About[]

Clallam-Jefferson County Fire Protection District No. 8 operates as Clallam County Fire District 3.

History[]

Clallam County Fire Protection District No. 3 was established on August 2, 1948.

In 2008 a partial merger of the Gardiner region of Jefferson County Fire Protection District No. 5 into Clallam County Fire Protection District No. 3 occurred following a petition from residents in the area. As a result of becoming a multi-county agency Clallam County Fire Protection District No. 3's legal name was required to be changed to "Clallam-Jefferson County Fire Protection District No. 8".[1] On June 8, 2010, the Board of County Commissioners of Clallam County approved the district's request to have its operational name changed to the previously used "Clallam County Fire District 3".[2]
