History[]
Chandos Township was located in northern Peterborough County. The fire department was formed in 1989. Fire protection had previously been purchased from Burleigh & Anstruther Township.
In 1998, Chandos was amalgamated with Burleigh & Anstruther Township to form the Township of North Kawartha. The two fire services merged to form North Kawartha Fire and Rescue Services.
