History[]
Champlain Township was created in 1998 through the amalgamation of the Town of Vankleek Hill, Village of L'Orignal, Township of Longueuil and Township of West Hawkesbury, The L'Orignal Fire Department and Vankleek Hill Fire Department amalgamated to create the new township's fire service.
Portions of Champlain Township are covered by the East Hawkesbury Township Fire Department.
