The Canton City Fire Department serves the City of Canton Ohio, the county seat of Stark County and eighth largest city in the State of Ohio. The city has an area of 26.17 sq mi (67.78 km2) and has a population of approximately 75,000 people.
Operating from 8 fire stations, the Canton Fire Department runs approximately 20,000 calls a year, and is comprised of the following:

- 4 Truck Companies (2 Tower Ladder, 2 Quint)
- 8 Advanced Life Support Ambulances
- 1 Technical Rescue Operations Team
- 1 Water Rescue Team
- 1 Rehab Unit
- 3 Safety Officer Captains (1 per shift)
- 3 Battalion Chiefs (1 per shift)
History[]
The Canton City Fire Department was established on July 22, 1822 and is believed to be the oldest fire department in northeast Ohio (Cleveland 1829, Cuyahoga Falls 1838, Newton Falls 1839, Akron 1840)
