History[]
In 2014, the City of Camas began serving the neighboring City of Washougal by contract under the new name of the Camas-Washougal Fire Department.
On April 22, 2025, voters rejected the merger of the Cities of Camas and Washougal into the Camas-Washougal Regional Fire Authority with 5,180 "yes" votes to 5,486 "no" votes.[1] On November 4, 2025, voters approved the merger of the Cities of Camas and Washougal into the Camas-Washougal Regional Fire Authority with 6,884 "yes" votes to 6,443 "no" votes.[2][3]

Future Plans[]
- On January 1st,2027 Camas Washougal Fire Department Will be Named Camas Washougal Regional Fire Authority. In the November 4th Election Day Voters passed a Regional Fire Authority with 6,869 "Yes" votes to 6431 “No" Votes so far.
