History[]
In 2001, the Village of Brussels was amalgamated with other area municipalities to form the Municipality of Huron East. Huron East's fire departments continued to operate independently for a number of years post-amalgamation, but eventually a fire chief was hired for the entire municipality and the department is now part of Huron East Fire Department.
