Boyertown Area Fire & Rescue was formed in 2013 through the merger of three area fire companies:
- Friendship Hook & Ladder Company of Boyertown
- Keystone Steam Fire Engine Company No. 1 of Boyertown
- Liberty Fire Company No. 1 of New Berlinville
