Bloomington Fire Department (Minnesota)

History

Bloomington is a combination department consisting of approximately 100 firefighters responding out of six firehouses, protecting a population of almost 90,000 residents in a area of over 38 square miles. Bloomington is famous for having the largest enclosed shopping center in the US, The Mall Of America. It is also headquarters for a number of large companies including Toro and Ceridian among others. Therefore, its' daytime population almost doubles in size. Bloomington is only 10 miles from the twin cities of Minneapolis-St.Paul.
