Overview[]

The City of Belmont Fire Department is a career department that provides fire suppression and medical first response services for Belmont NC. They cover approximately 12 square miles and serve 12,000 citizens. The department currently operates from two fire stations within the City with plans for a third facility in the northern portion of the city.

History[]

Belmont was incorporated as a town in 1895. The Belmont Fire Department was formed in October of 1918.
