Astoria Industries of Iowa Inc. was an American truck body manufacturer. Astoria specialized in fiberglass service truck bodies.

The company sold many of its service bodies to the telecommunications, utility and petroleum industries. Astoria did not manufacture fire apparatus, but some of its service bodies were used to build fire equipment such as rescue trucks and brush trucks.

The company was acquired by Altec in 2013.


History[]

In 1962 Astoria Fibra-Steel Inc was established in Astoria, Illinois. The company pioneered the use of fiberglass in the manufacture of service truck bodies.

Astoria was acquired by Raven Industries in 1988. The company was renamed Astoria Industries Inc. and relocated to South Dakota. The company was sold again in 1995 and moved to Osceola, Iowa becoming Astoria Industries of Iowa Inc.

Astoria's operations and products were acquired by Altec in 2013. It continues to be a branded operating division of Altec.
