The Eagle was a custom chassis built by American LaFrance. Introduced after ALF's 1995 resurrection by Freightliner, the Eagle was initially sold as a custom chassis to any body manufacturer. Once American LaFrance started offering complete apparatus again, the Eagle and other chassis were only available through ALF.

Production[]

Eagles were built and delivered from 1996 to the time of ALF's closure in 2014. It was available in 134" (60" tall cab-to-axle) or 148" (74" tall cab-to-axle) cab length configurations with a flat or raised roof (roughly 10" or 20"). There was also a low-profile 100" tall version available, also with the 134" or 148" cab lengths. Some of the first Eagle models delivered in the late 90s (mainly to a few depts. in Northeast US) sported a unique taupe-over-red color scheme, to celebrate ALF's return to the fire apparatus market. The Eagle also featured a distinct, custom-designed curved lightbar, in order to fit the cab's rounded front.
