Department Profile[]
The department provides fire suppression and rescue services over Adams County while assisting other departments within the county. The ACFD has approximately 15 volunteer employees, 6 command personnel and runs a cadet program for minors 16 or older interested in a future career in firefighting. The department covers the entire Adams County (645.6 mi²) which has a population of 22,226 as of 2022. A new fire station was built for the ACFD in 2022, moving them into their own building and out of a combined fire/police station.

The Adams County Fire District was formerly the Adams Fire Department. It was established in 1924.
