Acres Emergency Vehicles is a Canadian fire truck manufacturer located in Wawanesa, Manitoba. It originally sold trucks under the Green Acres nameplate, named for the Green Acres Hutterite Colony in which the company is located. Acres Emergency Vehicles are sold and serviced exclusively by Sea Hawk Service.

History[]

Acres began building fire apparatus in 1999 when the colony used its metal fabrication experience to refurbish a privately-owned fire truck. Initially, they built bodies for Summit Fire Protection, a Manitoba builder of Snuffer CAFS trucks. After Summit ceased operations, they gradually expanded their own operation, building more trucks and enlisting an outside sales force.

Production[]

Acres builds pumpers, mini-pumpers and rescues, mostly for smaller towns and rural communities. Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service operates 2 Acres-built mini-pumpers, and 2 tankers. Thunder Bay Fire Rescue Service received a custom pumper in 2013. Initially, most trucks were sold in Manitoba, but more recently, apparatus deliveries have been made to Saskatchewan, British Columbia, northwestern Ontario and Nova Scotia.
